Why I'm walking to World Arthritis Day

I am raising money for Versus Arthritis by taking on Walk to World Arthritis Day.

This is my own personal challenge to support the lives of those living with arthritis in the UK. Versus Arthritis won’t rest until everyone with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need to live the life they choose, with real hope of a cure in the future.

Your donations will fund world class research, high quality services and campaigns that matter most to people with arthritis.

Young People and Families Service Scotland

Thursday 26th Sep

Myself, alongside several of my friends, have decided to take part in the challenge as we are all service users of the Young People and Families Service (YPFS) in Scotland.

YPFS Scotland work tireless around the clock to support children, young people, and their families in Scotland who are affected by arthritis. YPFS Scotland provide youth workers and volunteers who attend hospital clinics to provide advice and emotional support. They also provide these vital individuals so that they can run residential days and weekends all across Scotland which allow young people with arthritis to socialise with others with the condition. It is through these events that I have gained invaluable support, advice, and friends for life.

Juvenile arthritis comes in many different forms, and has not only an physical impact, but impacts heavily upon mental and emotional health too.

By raising funds for Versus Arthritis, we hope to fundraise to allow the vital services that YPFS Scotland provide for young people to continue.
