Why I'm walking to World Arthritis Day

I am raising money for Versus Arthritis by taking on Walk to World Arthritis Day.

This is my own personal challenge to support the lives of those living with arthritis in the UK. Versus Arthritis won’t rest until everyone with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need to live the life they choose, with real hope of a cure in the future.

Your donations will fund world class research, high quality services and campaigns that matter most to people with arthritis.

Why I'm doing this challenge

Thursday 26th Sep
I'm taking part in this fundraiser as I've recently been diagnosed, just before my 42nd birthday, with osteoarthritis in my hip, knee and fingers. I suspect it's elsewhere though I'm awaiting scans to confirm this.

It's already affecting my life more than i ever imagined: my mobility is affected (due to part to fibromyalgia also) to the point I now walk with a stick; I struggle to maintain my grip on things and am forever dropping items; I find it painful and exhausting just doing the school run in the morning and, for the foreseeable I've had to give up the career I adored.

Please sponsor me if you can to help fund research into better treatment for this disease that affects so many people of all ages!
