How do I sign up?

How much is registration?

Registration for this challenge is free, and includes a free t-shirt.

How old do I need to be to register?

You must be 16 years old to register for the event through the website. If a child under 16 wishes to take part in the event, a parent or guardian must register on their behalf and support them in taking on the challenge.

When does registration close?

Registration closes on the 1st October 2023 at midday. Please note, if you register after the 26th September will not receive your t-shirt for the 1st day of the challenge but should receive it before the final day.

How do I join the Facebook Group?

Once registered you can join the Facebook Group here.

I don’t use Facebook, can I still join?

Yes! This challenge is open to everyone and you can still register and take on the challenge if you don’t use Facebook, or would rather not.

Can I take part as a team?

Absolutely! You can take on this challenge on your own, or as a team stepping together and raising as much money as possible.

I’ve registered as an individual, but now I have people who want to join as a Team. Is this possible?

It is possible for you to create or join a team. In order to do so, click on the 'Create a Team' button in your user's dashboard.

I live outside the UK, can I still take part?

Unfortunately, if you’re based outside the UK you will be unable to take part as we’re unable to send t-shirts and packs overseas.

How do I get my free t-shirt?

You will receive your t-shirt upon registration. You can register for the challenge here. After you've signed up to the challenge your t-shirt should arrive between 5 to 14 days time. 

What will I receive for the challenge?

If you selected at registration that you’d like a t-shirt, this will be sent out in the post to you directly. Any registrations made after 26th September; we are unable to guarantee they’ll arrive before the 1st October 2023 but will aim to get it to you as soon as possible. You can download the event guide and other resources to support your challenge in the resources area of the site.

If you said you didn’t wish to receive a t-shirt you can access all the things you need to support your challenge on the resources page here.

All challengers will receive a digital certificate for their fundraising after the fundraising deadline of the 31st of October 2023.

How do I set up an online fundraising page?

You can set your page up here so you’re ready to fundraise.

How much sponsorship do I need to raise?

There’s no minimum target for this challenge however we are suggesting a target of £120 if you’re an individual and £250 if you are a team.

Together, the money raised will fund life-changing research and services that bring us closer to a future free from arthritis. We won’t rest until everyone with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need to live the life they choose, with real hope of a cure in the future.

Can I make a self donation to my fundraising page?

Yes, you can kick off your fundraising by making a donation on to your fundraising page. This will also help inspire people visiting your page to support you as well.

When is the fundraising deadline?

The deadline for fundraising is the 31st October 2023 so you have plenty of time after the challenge to raise as much as possible.

How can I send in my fundraising?

Donate directly on to your fundraising page. Any money donated through this page will come automatically to the charity – there’s nothing you need to do. If you have offline funds:

  • Pay it directly on to your personal fundraising page. Login to your fundraising page and donation via the donation panel. 
  • Donate via bank transfer (Please notify the team on fundraising@versusarthritis.org with your name, date of payment and amount so we can attribute it to your fundraising) BACS: Versus Arthritis

I’ve hit my fundraising target, what now?

Wow – that’s incredible thank you so much! You can continue to fundraise and raise as much as possible. Why not increase your target on your online fundraising page?

How do I create a QR code to share my fundraising page?

You can generate a QR code in the 'Get Support' section once you are logged in. Then go to the 'Share my page' section where you'll find your QR code. You can copy this QR code image and paste it anywhere to share your fundraising page.

How can I share my fundraising page?

You can share your online fundraising page using the social sharing buttons directly from your page. These will link to your social media accounts. You can also copy the URL of your fundraising page and share that link with people to sponsor you.

How will the money raise support Versus Arthritis?

All monies raised through this challenge will go towards supporting the 10 million people in the UK living with arthritis.

Your support will help invest in world class research, deliver high quality services, and campaign on issues that matter most to people living with arthritis.

The Challenge

Do I have to walk every day?

The challenge will last for 12 days (01/10/2023 – 12/10/2023) however you’re in control so you can do what feels right for you, at your own level, at your own pace.

I have limited movement and can’t walk far, is that a problem?

Absolutely not. This is your own personal challenge so set something that is manageable and safe for you to achieve over the 12 days and take it at your own pace.

I can’t walk, can I take part?

If you are unable to walk but still wish to take part, you are able to upload on the site your km’s travelled if you have a way of tracking.

This will convert your distance in to steps so you can still join the challenge and make a difference to people living with arthritis.

What is World Arthritis Day?

World Arthritis Day is a global awareness day held each year on the 12th of October. It exists to highlight arthritis as a condition, and the impact it has on people each and every day.

There are more than 10 million people in the UK living with arthritis and we won’t rest until everyone with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need to live the life they choose, with real hope of a cure in the future.
