Why I'm walking to World Arthritis Day
I am raising money for Versus Arthritis by taking on Walk to World Arthritis Day.
Suffering from arthritis for over 10 years now, things have got progressively worse. It started in my knee, then both knees, then left foot, then right foot, in my neck, in my back, hips and now most joints are affected.
Some days are worse than others. I have periods of ‘flare’ when the pain and fatigue is unreal, it makes it very hard to live your normal life. Walking the dogs along the beach is my favourite thing to do, I used to enjoy running, I can no longer do that. Some days I find it so hard to walk the dogs, go to work and just generally do things due to the pain. My sleep is often disturbed, as I hurt so much. This also has a huge impact on daily life. Not all days are bad, but it is becoming more often than not!
This is my own personal challenge to support the lives of those living with arthritis in the UK. Versus Arthritis won’t rest until everyone with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need to live the life they choose, with real hope of a cure in the future.
Your donations will fund world class research, high quality services and campaigns that matter most to people with arthritis.
