Why I'm walking to World Arthritis Day
I am raising money for Versus Arthritis by taking on Walk to World Arthritis Day.
This is my own personal challenge to support the lives of those living with arthritis in the UK. As you might already know, I was diagnosed with arthritis at 16 - still in high school and super active having just achieved my black belt in karate. It's had a massive impact on me, from having my hip replaced at 27 to debilitating, and all consuming pain. Through this challenge I want to raise awareness that it's not just a disease for "old people", and it's not just a few "aches and pains"...
If I can stop just one person from saying "you look too young to have arthritis" my job will be done :)
Your donations will fund world class research, high quality services and campaigns that matter most to people with arthritis.
I'm setting a personal goal of 100km over the 12 days - Be it limp, crutch or crawl! Let me know if you would like to join my team of steppers to help raise funds, awareness, and to keep me company!
