Why I'm walking to World Arthritis Day
I am raising money for Versus Arthritis by taking on Walk to World Arthritis Day.
This is my own personal challenge to support the lives of those living with arthritis in the UK. Versus Arthritis won’t rest until everyone with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need to live the life they choose, with real hope of a cure in the future.
Your donations will fund world class research, high quality services and campaigns that matter most to people with arthritis.
Hey! I’m Elle, and I’m turning 30 in November. I’m taking on a challenge for Versus Arthritis because I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis last year in 2023. This condition has affected me not just physically but emotionally as well; it’s been a real rollercoaster. However, I’m determined to challenge myself and raise money for this cause to help find a cure for this crippling condition. I’ll be doing a walking challenge of 10,000 steps a day for 12 days. Your support means the world to me and can make a significant difference in the fight against arthritis! Thank you for considering donating!

Monday 2nd Sep Since being diagnosed with RA I have started on folic acid, hydroxychloroquine taking 2 tablets daily, methotrexate tablets taking 8 tablets weekly unfortunately that wasn’t easing the crippling pain, so have now been on 20mg methotrexate injections weekly, started trailing a new drug sulfasalazine taking 4 daily, plus my pain medication naproxen and a high dose of Co-Codamol - with my multi vitamins and magnesium tablets.
