Why I'm walking to World Arthritis Day

Hello everyone! From 1-12 October 2024 I will be taking part in the Versus Arthritis 12 Day Challenge to walk towards a future free of arthritis. I was diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis in January 2022, following almost 2 years of symptoms. I am currently on treatment, which has stabilised my condition and most days are now pain-free! 🙂

As a young person with this condition, at times I have felt very isolated and alone, due to the common misconception that arthritis only affects the elderly. I have sometimes been treated differently because of my condition in my personal life and in the workplace. My goal is to break the stigma that arthritis is just something people should 'just get on with', and raise awareness, especially of musculoskeletal conditions in children and young people.

If you wish to donate or share my fundraising page, please see the link below. Your support will help fund research and service delivery, and make a future free of arthritis a reality. Thank you! 🙂
