Why I'm moving...

I am moving to build a healthy and sustainable healthy habit all while raising money for Arthritis UK and a future free from arthritis.

Over 10 million people in the UK live with arthritis, affecting their ability to work, study, care for family, move free from pain and live independently. But arthritis is still poorly understood and far too little is done.

That’s why Arthritis UK funds life-changing research, supports those affected and campaigns for change. Arthritis UK won’t rest until everyone with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need to live the life they choose, with real hope of a cure in the future.

Living with JIA

Wednesday 1st Apr
Back in February, I marked 20 years since I was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, I was only 7.

At that age, I didn’t have the words to describe what was happening, but living with this condition has shaped both my childhood and the person I’ve become. Growing up in a body that sometimes feels like a constant battle teaches lessons no one can prepare you for.

Over the years, my journey has involved monthly hospital infusions, multiple operations, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, steroid injections, and daily medications. Each step has been a reminder of both the challenges and the resilience this condition demands.

This milestone has inspired me to raise money to support others navigating similar journeys and to give back to a community that has meant so much to me.

It hasn’t been easy. There’s been fear, frustration, and countless difficult moments. But through it all, I’ve learned what it really means to persevere. Every treatment, every appointment, every small victory has shaped my story, and I want to honour that journey and help others along theirs💛
