What is a charity place?

Team Versus Arthritis is made up of charity place runners and ballot place runners. Charity place runners are a big part of the team, and every year dedicate to raising an incredible amount towards a future free from arthritis. You’ll have a fundraising target but we will be here to support you every step of the way. 

What's the registration fee?

It costs £40 to sign up for a charity place! 

What is the fundraising target?

When you sign up you’ll pledge to raise a minimum of £400. Your support means we can continue to invest in world-class research, delivering high-quality services and campaigning on issues that matter the most to people with arthritis.

Ballot Place

What is a ballot place?

Each year a ballot is run by the organisers and a number of lucky runners are successful in securing one of these places. You can use that ballot place to support Versus Arthritis and support a future free from arthritis.  

Is there a registration fee for ballot places?

As you have already paid for your place with the organisers, signing up to join the team with your ballot place is free.

Do I have a fundraising target?

If you've got a ballot place, you won’t have a set fundraising target, so raise as much as you can.Every penny counts towards a future free from arthritis. We will be here to support you, with fundraising tips and tricks along the way.

The event

What is the Great North Run?

The Great North Run is one of the largest half marathons in the UK, which takes its runners through the streets of Newcastle, over the iconic Tyne Bridge and finishes along the coastline of South Shields. To find out more about the event, head to the organisers website here.
